Danaë Delbeke

CEO and Founder

Danaë is the inventor, founder and CEO of Indigo. She drives Indigo’s strategic vision, culture and passion to transform science into products that will improve the life of millions of people. She has a successful track-record in business management and entrepreneurship having successfully founded or co-founded 7 high-tech photonics companies over the past 12 years. She received her Ph.D. degree in Applied Sciences from Ghent University in 2002 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics as well as a Bachelor and Masters of Applied Sciences/Engineering in Photonics.

Peter J. devlin

President

Peter brings over 30 years’ experience leading the development & commercialisation of medical devices. Before joining Indigo, he worked for a number of years as an independent director and strategic advisor to early-stage medical tech companies. Prior to that he worked as the Chief Commercial Officer of Insulet Corporation, the US medical devices company, where he led Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Clinical Research and Customer Care operationsPrior to joining Insulet, Peter spent eleven years at Abbott Laboratories, in roles of increasing responsibility, most recently serving as Divisional Vice President of Global Strategic Marketing, Diabetes Care. In this role, he was responsible for the development of ADC’s commercial strategies, global brand & product management, market research, and business analytics and forecasting. Peter holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts.

Emmet Lydon

Chief operating officer

Emmet has over 30 years’ experience in the Life Sciences sector, having held multiple senior operations leadership positions with different organisations. These include VP Manufacturing Excellence at Stryker, VP International Operations at Teleflex Medical,  Regional  Operations Leader at Alere Inc (currently Abbott Diagnostics)  and Director of Core Technologies with Boston Scientific. Continuous improvement is a key element of Emmet’s approach using the tools of Lean methodologies combined with digital manufacturing solutions.
Emmet studied Plastics Engineering with the Technological University of the Shannon, Ireland, Post-Graduate Diploma in Manufacturing Technology from the Open University and awarded a MBA from Oxford Brookes.

Gijs Klarenbeek

VP Clinical and Medical Affairs

Gijs has over 15 years of academic and healthcare industry experience. After his medical training in abdominal surgery at the University of Leuven, he held multiple positions in Medical and Clinical Affairs at pharmaceutical and medical device companies. These include roles as Director of Medical Affairs Europe at Boston Scientific and Worldwide Medical Director Clinical Research at Johnson & Johnson’s medical device division (Cordis and Cardiovascular Care Franchise). During this time, Gijs supported the clinical development of different products ranging from regulatory submission (CE mark & IDE) to post-market commitments and development. Gijs holds an MD from the University of Leuven, Belgium and a degree in Business Administration from the Institute for Pharmaceutical Business Administration (IFB).

Daniel Verstappen

VP QA/RA

Daniël has over 20 years’ experience working at pharmaceutical companies, most latterly as Global VP, Quality, Regulatory Affairs and Standard Management at Philip Morris, which recently transformed into a life science company.  Whilst there, Daniël was part of the management team that created the vision and developed the transformation strategy. His expertise lies firmly in providing Quality and Regulatory Assurance leadership including determining Regulatory and Quality strategy and driving excellence in both operations. Daniël holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Ilse Pensaert

VP Human Resources

Ilse brings over 20 years of HR experience having held senior roles in Global Talent Management, Organizational Development, People & Leadership Development in the logistics/express industry with FedEx & TNT. Over the past 8 years she was involved in people and cultural transformation projects across a variety of companies and sectors such as Banking, Construction, Energy and Pharma. Currently Ilse is responsible for managing all aspects of HR for Indigo Medical. Ilse holds a Bachelor in Business Administration and a post-graduate in Management & Business at the University of Warwick.

Paul Moraviec

Chairman of the Board

Paul has amassed over three decades of global experience in the healthcare sector, having held multiple senior leadership positions. Most recently Paul led the ConvaTec Group Plc, a global medical products and technologies company, as Chief Executive Officer, orchestrating a successful company turnaround and subsequent $4.5 billion IPO on the London Stock Exchange in 2016, which at the time was the largest healthcare listing in Europe.

In addition, he brings highly relevant diabetes experience, having been Vice President of Abbott’s Diabetes Care International division between 2002 and 2007 where he transformed the EMEA business with low single digit growth and declining market share, to the fastest growing company in the glucose monitoring field.

Paul has also led the early-stage surgical robotics company Prosurgics, redesigning their product development and commercialisation strategy; and led a major restructuring and performance improvement program across UK, Germany and France for Johnson & Johnson’s Neuro Surgery business.
