Laboratory technician, biosensor characterization
We are seeking a highly motivated Laboratory Technician to support the characterization and performance testing of a novel biosensor platform.
This role will focus on executing laboratory assays, generating high-quality experimental data and supporting method development under the guidance of senior scientists and engineers. The activities will be performed in a quality-controlled environment.
As a Laboratory technician, you will also be involed in general laboratory management like inventory control and equipment maintenance.
This position is suited for a early-career professional with hands-on wet lab experience, a recent graduate or individuals with training similar to technicians in biotechnology research environments and clinical or chemistry laboratory settings.
What you will working on
- Perform routine and non-routine laboratory tests to characterize biosensor performance, including accuracy, precision, sensitivity, stability, and reproducibility
- Prepare samples, reagents, buffers, and controls according to established protocols (wet lab activities)
- Assist with assay optimization, validation studies, and comparative testing
- Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot standard laboratory equipment
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and documentation requirements in line with the quality management system (QMS)
- Accurately record experimental data in laboratory notebooks and electronic data systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, engineering, and quality assurance team
- Inspect, register and store incoming and outgoing goods according to established procedures and work instructions.
- Operate within a controlled environment, adhering strictly to quality and safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized and compliant lab environment at all times.
- Inventory management: ordering, stocking and organizing laboratory supplies
What you bring to the team
- Professional / academic bachelor in biomedical techniques, biotechnology, (bio)chemistry, biology or similar.
- Hands-on experience working in a wet laboratory environment (academic, hospital or biotech setting)
- Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques such as pipetting, handling chemicals , and handling liquids
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols precisely
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in written & spoken English
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Accept and be able to work in a medical device environment and be familiar with ISO 13485 standard.
- Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel)
